MAB Opening • teaser
Gergovia Museum
We were commissioned to create an engaging 2D animation teaser for the Gergovia Museum, showcasing its rich historical collection and referencing the battle between Vercingetorix and Julius Caesar which took place on the site of the museum in 52 BC.
The brief
Our client tasked us with creating a short 2D animation teaser to promote its rebranding and the opening of its new facilities. The objectif was to highlight a key artefact from its exhibition related to the battle between Vercingetorix and the armies Julius Caesar in the form of a concise yet impactful narrative, blending historical accuracy with visually appealing animation. The overall objective was to increase public interest in the museum and boost visitor numbers by presenting its historical significance in an accessible and visually captivating manner.
Our process
When the Gergovie Museum handed us the reins for this project, it was like being given the keys to a time machine! They essentially gave us complete creative freedom over the artistic direction of the video : "Surprise us, but keep it historically accurate." Challenge accepted! We dove headfirst into the world of ancient Gaul, armed with our trusty digital quills. We mixed historical accuracy with a dash of artistic flair, creating an animation style that has a very painterly feel. The result? A teaser that's as entertaining as it is educational - proof that you can indeed teach an old battle new tricks!
